Socket screws
Socket screws for tight spaces
HAGUE FASTENERS makes low head cap screws in the UK for designs with limited head room. The head is lower than a standard socket cap screw, so the screw fits shallower counterbores and thinner parts.
Many of the low head cap screws we make are in duplex, super duplex or critical superalloys. We make BSW, BSF, UNC and UNF threads, and most work is modified standards or bespoke bolting to customer or OEM drawings.
Where they are used
- Shallow counterbores and thin plates
- Jigs, fixtures and tooling
- Compact machine assemblies
- Instrument and defence equipment
- Where head height is limited

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is a low head cap screw?
A low head cap screw is a socket cap screw with a reduced head height, used where there is not room for a standard head.
Are low head cap screws as strong as standard ones?
The thread is the same, but the lower head and shallower socket limit the tightening torque, so check the design load. We can advise.
What is the difference between DIN 7984 and DIN 6912?
Both are low head socket cap screws. DIN 6912 has a pilot recess in the head, while DIN 7984 has a lower head without it.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. We make single prototypes and urgent breakdown replacements as well as batches of several hundred.
